The coffee is steamed to bring caffeine to the surface and solvents are used to remove caffeine. The resulting coffee is steamed again to remove any residual solvent resulting in decaffeinated coffee.

How should I store my coffee purchase?
Whole bean coffee will stay fresh at room temperature in a sealed container for about 23 days. Ground coffee will lose freshness much faster. We suggest using a glass jar in the refrigerator for extended life. Glass prevents outside odors from absorbing into the beans, and does not produce it's own smell. Grind beans just before brewing for peak freshness and flavor. For even longer life, you can keep whole beans in the freezer. They do not need to be thawed to brew.

How do you get the best cup of coffee?
You need fresh roasted beans to grind, clean brewing equipment* and quality water. *Clean the coffee pot and maker once a week.

What is the most common preparation method?
A drip coffee maker from paper or plastic basket.

What is the best way to store beans?
In a glass, air-tight container out of the light. Do not freeze ground coffee. Air, light and moisture reduce freshness.

What is Espresso?
Espresso is a strong, finely ground, dark roasted coffee brewed by quickly forcing hot water through the beans.

What is Kopi Luak?
A coffee bean digested by a Luwak (cousin to the mongoose) in Indonesian regions. The bean is harvested and sold in the US about $18oz. or $300lb!

What is Decaffeinated?
Having the caffeine levels reduced at least 97.5%

What is the difference in Beans?
Arabica Beans have a wide range in taste and smell. They are a more delicate bean produced in the tropical regions at a high elevation. They are more expensive due to hands on production process.

Robusta Beans have a neutral to harsh taste and oatmeal like texture. They grow in low elevations, are heartier for rough handling and yield higher pounds per acre. They are less expensive due to a more mechanized method of harvesting.

Beans take on the characteristics of the soil of the region in which it is grown.
