Yes, Copper Moon Coffee has been family-owned and operated by the Gutwein brothers since 2007. Every area of our company is rooted in our family values of integrity, trust, and hospitality. Although we are growing with many employees and café locations across Greater Lafayette in Indiana, our family cares for you and your coffee every single day.

Brad and Cary Gutwein grew up working together with their family. And as a family who was inspired by the way coffee always brings people together, in 2007, they purchased Copper Moon Coffee (originally founded in the late 1960s). Now our 100,000-square-foot roasting facility on the east side of Lafayette roasts tens of millions of pounds of coffee each year. Much of the coffee is sold online through our website, coppermooncoffee.com; but it is also sold through other online retailers—including Amazon, Staples, Office Depot, and Walmart. Copper Moon Coffee is also available in grocery stores nationwide.

Our Nutritional Information Guides are available in our Cafés or on our Nutritional Info page.

At all of our Café locations in Greater Lafayette, our hot drinks are 8, 12, 16, or 20 ounces, and our cold and frozen drinks are 16, 24, or 32 ounces.

At all of our Café locations, we offer a few house favorites that will always be available, such as our Espresso Roast. Our Crew Members are always searching for new and exciting coffees and will showcase Single Origins and Out-Of-This-World Blends, depending on their flavor profiles.

Most people think Espresso Roast has the most caffeine, but brewed coffee actually has more. A single 2 oz. Double Espresso shot has about 80 milligrams of caffeine. Whereas a 12 oz. brewed coffee has about 120 milligrams of caffeine.

Our Blast Off Strong Roast products—available online and at our Greater Lafayette Cafés—provide over 1.5x more caffeine than other coffee. Blast Off is a smooth yet intensely strong coffee that gets you ready to “blast off” after one sip.

Generally, darker roasts have slightly less caffeine than lighter roasts because the coffee bean is roasted longer, which essentially cooks out more caffeine during the roasting process. This also gives a dark roast its “bolder” flavor profile.

Yes, we serve Swiss Water® Decaf Organic coffee in either Espresso based beverages or as pour-over coffee. The Swiss Water® Process starts with small batches of coffee beans using the elements of water while monitoring both time and temperature until the coffee is 99.9% caffeine-free.

You can also shop for Swiss Water® Decaf Organic online anytime.

Espresso is coffee with water being pressurized through it, making a strong but beautiful tasting cup of coffee (about 1 ounce per espresso shot). Cappuccinos and Lattes are both made with steamed milk and Espresso. Cappuccinos are a small and strong-tasting drink with less milk than a Latte. Lattes are larger than an Espresso and are often paired with additional syrups or sauces.

Our Baristas are “experts” who craft Espresso with perfect harmony between the hand, the bean, the grinder, and the machine. Most importantly, all of our Baristas are professionally trained and they can dial in each coffee to bring out slight nuances of flavor.

In addition to our seasonal space-themed flavors, we offer artisan syrups and sauces. Our syrup options are Vanilla, Lavender, Hazelnut, Sugar-Free Vanilla, Sugar-Free Hazelnut, and Sugar-Free Caramel syrups. Our sauce options are Caramel, Chocolate, and White Chocolate.

The taste of our Cold Brew on tap at our Cafés is slightly chocolatey with a nice smooth finish, freshly made with our special blend of coffee.

Our “Draft” infuses Cold Brew coffee with nitrogen gas which is released through a pressurized valve with tiny holes. As high pressure forces the Cold Brew over a disc, it creates a creamy, stout-like effect. The flavor profile offers a smooth, clean, and velvety texture. Nitro pour also elevates the cool factor when you see the coffee cascading.

Iced Coffee is briefly hot brewed and poured over ice and served as a chilled beverage. Cold Brew is brewed for about 18 hours at room temperature for a very full flavor. Because of this process, Cold Brew has less acidity than Iced Coffee and makes for a super-smooth, clean cup of coffee that tastes very different than coffee over ice. And our Frappe uses a shot of espresso and is blended with ice and other artisan syrups.

Craft FIZZ is a custom, handcrafted soda made to order at our Cafés using sparkling water and a variety of artisan syrup options.
