CooperMoonTravel-103.jpg

Copper Moon World Coffees are blends of premium, 100% Arabica bean coffees with unique flavor profiles, from all around the world.  We are very careful to select only the finest beans for our world blends. The coffee beans we roast are all grown at high altitudes within tropical climates where the soil is rich with nutrients—this is the key to growing great coffee.

Just as a “Copper Moon” is a rare moment in time when things perfectly align to create something truly unique, we source our coffee beans from locations with special growing conditions that produce truly unique beans that we roast perfectly.

The Abakundakawa Cooperative began in 2005. Abakundekawa follows Fair Trade Standards and the farmers that contribute to it grow flavorful Bourbon, Jackson, and Mbezi coffee. Located in the northern mountainous region of the District of Gakenke, the cooperative rests in a valley near the village of Musasa and features five distinct zones.

Women's associations play a prominent role in the production of Abakundekawa beans. Two women's associations are growing more than two-thirds of the Cooperative's coffee: “Hingakawa” (Let’s Grow Coffee) and “Dakundakawa” (We love Coffee).

ETHIOPIA: 9.1450° N, 40.4896° E | 1,800–2,100 meters

We offer an exceptionally complex, Ethiopian coffee from the Yirgacheffe region. It is a collaboration by many small farm growers and a collection of heirloom beans which are processed immaculately. Yirgacheffe is a coffee region in southern Ethiopia that produces distinctively floral and fruit-toned coffees from traditional varieties of Arabica beans. Yirgacheffe coffees like this one are processed by the wet or washed method (where fruit skin and pulp is removed before drying) and typically express great aromatic complexity and intensity with a particular presence of citrus and floral notes.
